My take on what life and the world and God are all about is what I wrote on the home page: I / We exist to share in God’s work of reconciliation. As the apostle writes, “In Christ, God was reconciling the world to God, not counting their trespasses against them and entrusting the message of reconciliation to us.”

I understand this to mean that all are forgiven and that all are reconciled and being reconciled. All human beings regardless of race, gender, creed, sexual orientation or any other “dividing wall” belong to God and belong to one another.

This is good news. I feel this good news in one of my favorite prayers from our prayer book:

O God of unchangeable power and eternal light: … by the effectual working of your providence, carry out in tranquility the plan of salvation; let the whole world see and know that things which were cast down are being raised up, and things which had grown old are being made new, and that all things are being brought to their perfection by him through whom all things were made, your Son Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
