I am in my fourth year on staff here at St. Michael’s, doing what I was invited to do when I came on board. I was invited to be ears and eyes for the concerns of families with young children, to hear and see needs and inclinations, and, perhaps, to discern ways to propel the community forward to meet those needs and address those inclinations.

We love having children around our church. Our philosophy is based on Jesus saying “Let the children come unto me.” We implement our philosophy through presence, programming and persistence. We encourage all children to be present: in liturgy, in gathering, in work, in play. We take them seriously. We provide programming directed at gathering them together and giving them the space and time to live into their relationship with God. We persist in this relationship with our children, creating what we need as we go, in order for children and their families to be included in our community.
