From Lisa Hlass:

BELOVED COMMUNITY CRISIS FUND

As most of us have heard, crises include both danger and opportunity, including the one we’re all now in. It looks like most of us will be receiving a $1200 or so check as part of the forthcoming U.S. stimulus legislation. Many will really need this money to help tide their families over during this time of crisis. Others of us probably already have the resources we will need to to see us through. I feel like this is a great opportunity for us to share. I would like to donate my $1200 (and challenge others to do the same) to a fund managed by the Greater Little Rock Organizing Committee to be used to assist people/families in our greater community during these threatening times. Of course, a donation of any size would be welcome and put to good use, helping enable us to take care of one another. If you are able, please consider participating in this project. ARE YOU UP FOR THE CHALLENGE?! (Stay tuned for details.)

From Mike Morrissey:

I don’t know when people are getting help from the stimulus package–or even if local servers, bartenders, and musicians qualify–but a lot of them are hurting, as they are now out of work and unemployment doesn’t go far. The Downtown Little Rock Partnership has created the Little Rock Virtual Tip Jar. The online spreadsheet is linked at arkansasonline.com/323tipjar and on the Downtown Little Rock Partnership’s Facebook and Twitter pages. In addition, local musicians have created the Arkansas Artists Virtual Tip Jar at https://bit.ly/2xfPrDq

Adopt-a-Parishoner

Keith is organizing an effort to keep our community connected and help us be the church when we can’t be together. He’s looking for healthy parishioners who are willing to be partnered with another parishioner(s) who have a higher health risk during the COVID-19 pandemic.  If you are willing to make phone calls to connect with each other or even pick up a bag of groceries or prescriptions for someone who can’t get out or is isolated, contact Keith and he’ll get you connected! All CDC precautionary guidelines will be followed and Keith will give details if you choose to volunteer to pick things up. Keith can be reached at (870) 817-3628 (text or call) OR email at keith@stmichaels-church.net and other clergy will also be available to assist.  Let’s be the church together!

VERY IMPORTANT FROM TAG PANTRY

On April 5 we will have our in-gathering for the TAG pantry.  If our church and Trinity are open, we will follow our regular procedure.  If our church is still closed, then our procedure will be different.   On the morning of April 5, I will be at St. Michaels at 10 a.m. until 12:00 p.m.    You can bring your contribution to the pantry by the church.  I will take it down there shortly after 12:00p.m.   If Trinity is still closed, then Ashley will meet me there to unload the food into the pantry.  Please know that the need will be great.  We have not faced anything like what we will face in coming weeks; I, personally, have never faced anything to compare to this virus in my lifetime.    So, I hope you can find it in your heart to once again be generous.  ALL ITEMS will needed.   All kinds of canned goods, spaghetti products, canned fruits, dry foods like cereal, peanut butter and jelly, dried beans and rice, and all kinds of soup.  If you have questions about any items, please email me (sbfbcbtbmu5@yahoo.com) or call me (501-733-1240). I am alone at home, safe, and have no needs.  I feel very lucky.  Many people are not so lucky.  With lay-offs, school closings, and other disruptions to our daily life, many are unsure of the future.  Hopefully, we can help those individuals with their needs, and we will pray for everyone’s health to be returned to them soon. In His Love, Kay
