Servant Leadership School
Communion: Prayer and the Practice of Presence, a Lenten Study
Communion, Compassion, and Co-creation are the three central practices for Servant Leadership. This class has the intention of learning what it means to “live” prayer in the daily activities of our life, present to the moment and present to God. Students will be introduced to spiritual tools and practices that help establish and maintain this sense of living into a life of prayer.

St. Michael’s & St. Nicholas Women’s Retreat Camp Mitchell April 17-19 – Coordinator(s) Needed
Our “sort-of annual” retreat with the women of St. Nicholas is penciled in at Camp Mitchell for the weekend of April 17-19. It’s St. Michaels’ turn to plan and coordinate this. At this time we do not have anyone “in charge.” The women at St. Nicholas are great to work with on this. It is a small event and it is easy to coordinate. Planning ideas and assistance will be provided from those who have attended or coordinated in the past. We need to confirm the dates with Camp Mitchell in early February. Please contact Judy Lohmar at 501-765-0355 or jelohmar@arkbluecross.com if you are able to take the lead on this. Thank you.

A NEW MINISTRY OPPORTUNITY FOR ST. MICHAEL’S
For some time now I have wanted to see if St. Michael’s might somehow assist the Assembly of God
Church near us as they minister to the hungry people of the area. I asked to meet with the pastor a few
weeks back, and he agreed to do so. We had a wonderful conversation. The TAG (Trinity Assembly of
God) has a food pantry which presently feeds 50 families. The pantry is open on Monday night from 6-
7:30 on the first Monday night of the month only. The number of families has doubled in just one year,
and Pastor Maynard expected even more growth this year. I feel this is an opportunity for St. Michael’s
“to be the church” with another church to serve the need of others. It is a unique mix of churches, but
that excites me even more. Beginning on the first Sunday of each month in March, I will place boxes
marked “TAG Food Pantry” at the back of the nave. Please pray about being a part of this ministry each
first Sunday and place what food you can in one of the boxes. I will make sure it gets to the pantry. In
time, if you are led to help with the pantry and be a greeter at TAG, we will be welcome. If you feel led
to assist in this effort in any way, please talk with me. The pastor really needs someone with a truck to
help get the food from the Food Bank and Rice Depot to the church also. I am sure there will be other
opportunities for our help too. Also, if you have any suggestions as to how we can assist in other ways,
please let me know.

Foods on the TAG list are: boxed cereal, oatmeal, variety of bread(they freeze bread), beans, bagged
rice (they freeze rice too), hamburger helper, tuna helpers, all kinds of canned foods, vegetable, chicken
noodle, tomato soups etc. canned meats, stew, ravililo, tuna fish etc., mac-n-cheese, spaghetti noodles,
spaghetti sauce, peanut butter, jelly, snacks, Little Debbies, Rice Crispy treats, etc., canned fruits,
peaches, pears, etc., or other items capable of being stored.

A MESSAGE FROM BEAN MURRAY
I am looking for someone who can assist me with the electronic newsletter of the Episcopal Mental Illness Network (EMIN) and keep the address list up to date. The person would need to be able to manage a Constant Contact account to send periodic messages to the EMIN mailing list, update the list, and place articles into the Constant Contact newsletter format for publication by email. This requires a few hours a couple of times a year. Finding a volunteer would be great, but we can also talk about an hourly rate. If you
are interested, please contact me at beanmurray@swbell.net
