Adopt-a-Parishoner

Keith is organizing an effort to keep our community connected and help us be the church when we can’t be together. He’s looking for healthy parishioners who are willing to be partnered with another parishioner(s) who have a higher health risk during the COVID-19 pandemic.  If you are willing to make phone calls to connect with each other or even pick up a bag of groceries or prescriptions for someone who can’t get out or is isolated, contact Keith and he’ll get you connected! All CDC precautionary guidelines will be followed and Keith will give details if you choose to volunteer to pick things up. Keith can be reached at (870) 817-3628 (text or call) OR email at keith@stmichaels-church.net and other clergy will also be available to assist.  Let’s be the church together!

VERY IMPORTANT FROM TAG PANTRY

On April 5 we will have our in-gathering for the TAG pantry.  If our church and Trinity are open, we will follow our regular procedure.  If our church is still closed, then our procedure will be different.   On the morning of April 5, I will be at St. Michaels at 10 a.m. until 12:00 p.m.    You can bring your contribution to the pantry by the church.  I will take it down there shortly after 12:00p.m.   If Trinity is still closed, then Ashley will meet me there to unload the food into the pantry.  Please know that the need will be great.  We have not faced anything like what we will face in coming weeks; I, personally, have never faced anything to compare to this virus in my lifetime.    So, I hope you can find it in your heart to once again be generous.  ALL ITEMS will needed.   All kinds of canned goods, spaghetti products, canned fruits, dry foods like cereal, peanut butter and jelly, dried beans and rice, and all kinds of soup.  If you have questions about any items, please email me (sbfbcbtbmu5@yahoo.com) or call me (501-733-1240).

I am alone at home, safe, and have no needs.  I feel very lucky.  Many people are not so lucky.  With lay-offs, school closings, and other disruptions to our daily life, many are unsure of the future.  Hopefully, we can help those individuals with their needs, and we will pray for everyone’s health to be returned to them soon.

In His Love, Kay

  1. I would like more information about the TAG pantry. Where is the donated food taken to be distributed? Which Trinity? And by whom is it distributed? And how? Thanks for any explanation about this outreach.

    1. It’s trinity Assembly of God just down the street. Kay Morgan got us engaged with them in ministry a number of years back.

  2. AND, thank you, thank you for the wonderful sermon and music support links……..especially for the link to the children’s choir’s offering of Slane’s “Lord of All Hopefulness”.

  3. Love the adopt-a-parishoner idea. Thanks Keith! And Lee your articles were very informative.

I heard about a wider group organizing folks in our city to help address the needs of older / vulnerable population. I haven’t vetted this and I’m not sure who’s involved but thought I would pass it along.
